The Jamaica Tourist Board is delighted to sponsor the upcoming August PROST meeting, bringing the warmth, rhythm, and vibrant spirit of the island directly to our members. This special gathering offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourselves in Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage while introducing acclaimed Jamaican-born artist Bernard Hoyes. Celebrated globally for his expressive masterworks that capture the soul and movement of Caribbean folklore and spirituality, Hoyes will join us to share the artistic vision, heritage, and stories that make Jamaica an unforgettable cultural destination.

Bernard Stanley Hoyes is an internationally acclaimed Jamaican-born contemporary artist renowned for his vibrant, rhythm-infused works celebrating Afro-Caribbean spirituality, culture, and heritage. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Hoyes began his artistic journey as a young prodigy selling wood carvings and watercolors through the Jamaica Tourist Board before earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California College of the Arts. Over a celebrated multi-decade career, his mastery across painting, sculpture, and printmaking—including his iconic Revival Series and public art commissions across the U.S. and Jamaica—has earned him global recognition, features in major museum exhibitions, and inclusion in distinguished private collections worldwide, including those of Oprah Winfrey and President Barack Obama.
